An Evening Of Palate Pleasures

On July 26, 2025 Level One and Level Two adventurers hosted "An Evening of Palate Pleasures" cooking demo as their fundraiser to purchase school supplies! Mrs. Nicole Day and Ms. Taema Frank were the leaders who helped these adventurers practice and prepare their chosen dish. The beginner's class greeted and served the food samples. The evening begin with Ethan Zang introducing his creation of "French Rose Elixir". This beverage consisted of powered beets, powered collagen, lemon and lime juices, turmeric, and oatmeal, a healthy power-packed beverage. He kicked off this demo by inviting the guest to pronounce the name of each ingredients in French as he introduced them in English. There were some very "interesting" pronunciations! Then, Nylah Guillory, along with Gustavia Sanchez demonstrated how to prepare appetizers of Shrimp Toast and Smoked Salmon Spread on a toasty baguette. Salads was next on the list of demonstrations. Zaleria Calvin demonstrated how to prepare a tasty, simple Peach and Tomato Caprese Salad. That was the beginning of a meal!

Next, the adventurers turned attention to the main portion of the meal. Starting with the vegetables were Whitnee Riley and Gustavia Sanchez demonstrating how to prepare (1) Roasted Butternut Squash with Spinach and Cranberries and (2) Stir-Fried Mushrooms with Baby Corn. Chazzlyn Ben then demonstrated how to prepare South African Yellow Rice and Green Onion and Garlic Naan Bread. Lauren White topped the main meal with Roasted Peruvian Turkey with a Cream Sauce. Ethan provided Mint Julep Iced Tea to complete the main meal. Now, after eating all these healthy foods the adventurers served something that was totally against any healthy meal---Hawaiian Pineapple Cake! It was so good! Ethan provided Thai Coffee to end the night of "Palate Pleasures."

In addition to demonstrating how to prepare the dishes, each adventurer gave the health benefits of the ingredients in each dish. The audience voice how they learned many valuable lessons!

It was an epic night!
