Good morning everyone!
Oòooooo----weeeeee! We had a blast yesterday (May 25th)! Marcus and the team from the Producer's Academy brought to our city an exceptional afternoon of " Everything Music"!!!!
Thirty kids, along with five visiting adults enjoyed an afternoon of arts and crafts centered around music; face painting which turned into arms painting (LoL); making music with drums, maracas, and harmonicas; coloring music sheets; and playing the floor keyboard! Jade Zang decided to put some gymnastics moves as music rang out!
Highlight of the day---the adventurers had an opportunity to create their own recorded musical piece with or without their lyrics!
Coach Jessica, Coach LaShonda and myself had worked faithfully to pull this event together for our adventurers, I figure at least a couple of the adventurers would write a song about me. I had the perfect lyrics for them to put music to.
I presented the idea to the adventurers one by one: "Hey guys, When you write your music, I know it will be about me, right? Here are the lyrics you can use--
Ms. Linda is da bomb dot com. She is a groovy lady. Ooooo Ms. Linda, Ms. Linda she is all that! Yeah! Yeah! "
Their response: "Ms. Linda, I am not writing music about you. You are TOO OLD!!"
THE NERVE OF THESE LITTLE PEOPLE!! (KMSL). I thought it would have been a great piece of music!!!! What yall think?
In all we had a blast of an afternoon as we all enjoyed Popsicles AFTER Madame Jessica convinced us dance to music we made with our maracas!!
The afternoon was truly "EVERYTHING MUSIC!"
Special thanks to our "Rock Star Coaches" LaShonda Williams and Madame Jessica; Sandy Rich and Debbie Sue Fontenot, to Pastors Steven and Sarah Sawtelle, and to Marcus Dugar, The Producer's Academy for their unwavering and unconditional support as we work to bring this new adventure to the children in our community.
The Producer's Academy does offer lessons for ages 7 through 100. So if you are interested in lessons or if you want to sponsor an adventurer for lessons please message me.
Yall be blessed. Make it a safe and happy holiday weekend. And don't forget-- "Keep looking up and moving forward".
yall,
Linda
