Howdy everyone!
Our adventurers in the Cajun Gems Culinary program were blessed with a visit from Miss Lafayette, Anna Steckler! Her foundation N.E.E.D.S. donated fresh fruits and vegetables which allowed our upcoming junior chefs to prepare 30 meals for the program Grace For The Streets. Grace For the Streets is a program that provides a meal on Mondays for the homeless and less fortunate at Hundredfold Coffee House in the Ville Platte community. Neil Ortego, Primal Health Coach with Build Health serves as our primary culinary coach for our adventurers.
Serving has become a niche for our upcoming junior chefs as they are so passionate about helping others.
With Anna's donation, our upcoming junior chefs prepared a meal mashed potatoes, sticky chicken, fresh green beans, fresh yellow squash, and blackberry cobbler made with fresh blackberries! Anna also donated fresh fruits which afforded our upcoming junior chefs to put together fruit bags, so each person left with something to eat for the next day.
Anna gave our upcoming junior chefs some tips and encouragement on healthy eating. These adventurers were all ears!
Anna stated she was honored to be invited to one of our meal prep days, but we are the ones who were so honored and grateful for her presence and donation! We are so excited to have partnered with a phenomenal young lady and all that she is promoting on healthy eating!
Alrighty! Ya'll know, as adventurers, we are always finding new things to explore and ways to give back. So, stay tuned because N.E.E.D.S. and CGC is brewing some good stuff!
Ya'll be blessed by making it happy day. Continue to look up and move forward!
Linda
