Friday, June 27th was city tour number 3 for our adventurers! We had another wonderful field trip right here in small town Ville Platte!!
First, we visited the courthouse where Mr. Randy and his team explained the function of the clerk of court department. We then moved over to the assessor's office where we learned so much about property taxes from the team in this office. Next, we walked down to the registrar's office and learned about voting. We crossed the hall and learned about collecting all the different taxes and tickets! Lastly, we went upstairs and had the opportunity to visit with Assistant DA Deirdre Godfrey. She gave our adventurers a tour of the courtroom and highlights of a court proceedings.
By the end of that tour we were hungry so we headed to Ville Platte High School for a meal of burgers and tots! After lunch, Misty Parker at Swamp Pop Museum gave us a great tour and history lessons of our Museum! She even had a sweet treat for them! Thanks Misty! To complete our day we visited our newly renovated Heritage Park for a nature walk!
The day was filled with new adventurers and some happy little adventurers!
Keep watch as we are preparing to jump into our culinary program!
